Christmas Fundraiser

 Dear Parent/Guardian/Students and Constituents,

We are announcing our Annual Christmas Fundraiser.  This is something that the school has enjoyed participating in for many years.  The goal of this effort is to encourage 100% participation in raising funds and awareness about those who are less fortunate than we are and in need of support, during the holiday season.  This means we are hoping for everyone to contribute to at least one dress down day fundraiser.  This initiative began the week following Thanksgiving break.

To raise funds, we will sponsor 3 funded dress down days, one each week leading up to the last week of school, before departing for Christmas vacation.  Those that want to participate will contribute funds which will be deducted from their student account, or they may pay cash. They will earn a dress down day for that week.  The week before vacation the money raised will be used to purchase gift cards at local stores for clothing, toys and food to be distributed through the Norwich Chapter of “Catholic Charities.”  Money will also be directly contributed to the “Norwich Diocese Fuel Fund.”  This will provide much-needed heating oil for individuals in need.

The Designated Dress Down Days will be

Week 1:  Dress Down Day, Friday, Nov.  30

Week 2:  Dress Down Day, Friday, Dec. 6

Week 3:  Dress Down Day, Friday, Dec. 15

Week 4:  Dress Down Day, Thursday, Dec. 20, this will be a complementary dress down day for those who contributed to the previous 3 weeks.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to make a small contribution, please feel free to contact me or mail a check made out to St. Thomas More School, memo:  Christmas Fundraiser.

Have a Happy Holiday Season!

Sincerely,

Maura Howard
