This past Saturday's game against the Nordhein-Westfalen Green Machine was a first for many. For the Green Machine, it was many players first trip to the United States. For St. Thomas More and the United States it was the first time a European football team came over to play a high school football game. The Chancellors did not wait to get on the board, scoring 28 points in the first quarter. Jahvon Adams reeled in a 35 yard pass from Miles Foerster for the first touchdown on the game. Brian Santana led the team in rushing with 3 carries for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns. Josh MaCleod led the team in receiving with 2 catches for 65 yards including a 45 yard touchdown. Brendan McKeon recovered a fumble in the endzone for a touchdown on special teams. The offense was moving on all cylinders gaining 474 yards and 316 yards rushing. Winston DeLeon and Tavori Atkins each had a rushing touchdown as well. On defense linebackers Charles Thomas and Andreas Missios led the way with 6 tackles apiece. Charles had 5 TFL's and a sack as well. Jonathan Anderson had 4 tackles and a sack. On the defensive line Lamar Goods, Masaya Ozaki, and Eric Hegamin each had at least 1 TFL. Tyrik Henderson had the lone interception of the game. The game ended 47-0 and was a great cultural experience for both teams. The Chancellors (1-0) face New England power Choate Rosemary Hall this Saturday 2pm at in Wallingford.
