Liquid Nitrogen Experiments, '11-'12

Retired Science Department Chair, George Vartenigian and his good friend Bob Erickson showed Mr. Gonzalez's chemistry class some experiments using liquid nitrogen.
Mr. Vartenigian and Mr. Erickson showed the students that a liquid nitrogen frozen pear does not make a good hammer, marshmallows frozen in liquid nitrogen are very tasty, and if you have parts that don't go together, liquid nitrogen is a good fix. They also deflated balloons in the liquid nitrogen and had the students reinflate them by bouncing them around in their warm hands.
The last experiment, the favorite, was the explosion of a diet coke bottle filled with liquid nitrogen.
