Electrical Experiments, '11-'12

Retired Science Department Chairperson George Vartenigian and his partner Mr. Bob Erickson treated the science classes of Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Rutherford to hands-on science experiment Friday, Dec. 12, 2011.
By incorporating science with hands-on demonstrations, Mr. Vartenigian and Mr. Erickson bought science to life before the students' eyes. Audience participation was a key element of the program, which dealt with static electricity, magnetic currents, high voltage, Newton's third law, magnetic induction and momentum. From making students hair stand up on end to illuminating a light bulb with a Tesla coil, learning and entertainment were combined to bring the theories of science to life. As Mr. Vartnegian said "science is always magic."
