Scholarships
At St. Thomas More School, we are proud to offer our best students scholarships. Thanks to our generous donors, these funds are available to be given to those deserving young scholars that have demonstrated academic success, leadership, and fine moral character.
The application deadline is the second Friday of May of each year. Students must apply separately for each specific scholarship and include the name of the scholarship for which they are applying in the essay. These scholarships are in addition to any other financial aid awards given and range from five hundred to fifteen hundred dollars, and are based on funds available.
The Alumni Memorial Scholarship
1. Attendance for the entire prior semester at St. Thomas More School or the subsequent year.
2. Financial need as demonstrated by the Student Services or current method used by the St. Thomas More School administration for all financial aid.
Students may apply for the Alumni Memorial Scholarship fund by writing an essay and submitting it to the Headmaster's office The essay should explain their individual need and what personal qualities and contributions they will bring to the St. Thomas More School community in the four areas outlined in the school's mission: social, physical, moral, and academic.
The Laurence Jamil Murdaugh Memorial Fund
1. Attendance for the entire prior semester at St. Thomas More School.
2. Financial need as demonstrated by the Student Services or current method used by the St. Thomas More School Administration for all financial aid policies.
3. Resident of New York, New York.
4. Member of an interscholastic athletic team.
5. Resides in a single parent household.

The Faculty Memorial Scholarship
1. Attendance for the entire prior semester at St. Thomas More School or the subsequent year.
2. Financial need as demonstrated by the Student Services or current method used by the St. Thomas More School administration for all financial aid.

Faculty/Staff Scholarship
The Faculty/Staff Scholarship recognizes a student's high standard of performance and leadership and carries with it the responsibility of maintaining these standards. The funding for this scholarship is generated directly from faculty and staff of the school on an annual basis. A committee is assembled at the end of the year and will review the essays presented. Students are selected by a majority of the committee.
