Greetings to the St. Thomas More School family! I hope this message finds you well. Although we are amidst the summer months, it is certainly a busy time for STM. On Saturday, June 17th, 2010, St. Thomas More School held their 10th Annual Golf Classic at River Ridge Golf Course in Griswold, CT. We had a wonderful turnout and some stellar weather that day. Head PG basketball coach Jere Quinn, Director of Admissions Tim Riordan, '79 and Emmett Riley took home the trophy at 11 strokes under par.
Summer school began on the 27th of June and will run until the 30th of July. The students and faculty are hard at work each day in the classrooms.
Saturday, October 16th, 2010 will be an eventful day for the St. Thomas More Community. Parent's Day and Homecoming will kick off the day. Parent/Teacher conferences will begin at 9 a.m., lunch will be served in the cafeteria at Noon and there will be a Varsity Soccer match against Falmouth Academy at 1 p.m. and a Varsity Football game against The Canterbury School at 3 p.m. Upon the conclusion of the day time activities, St. Thomas More School will be honoring Mr. Robert Malerba, '66 at the Mohegan Sun Casino Uncas Ballroom during our annual Founder's Dinner celebration. Cocktail Hour will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner service will begin at 7 p.m. During this celebration, St. Thomas More School will also honor the Class Reunions of the classes of 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000 and 2005. This will truly be a special day for the St. Thomas More Family.
We are currently in the process of setting up a Springfield, MA Regional Event this August, as well as Regional Events in Boston, San Francisco and possibly Los Angeles later this fall. Be sure to look for a Spring Regional to be held in New York City during the Men's Big East Basketball Tournament in March, 2011. Details will be posted soon.
