The Brian Nelligan Memorial Golf Tournament

The Sterling National Country Club in Clinton, MA, was the site for the first Brian Nelligan ’91 Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament. Hosted by past parents, Jack and Lynn Nelligan, as well as family friends Ted and Ann Early, 134 golfers partook in the day’s tournament, that also featured a buffet style lunch with a raffle and sports auction after the golf outing.
This inaugural event was very well received, and a great deal of money was raised to memorialize Brian with two scholarship funds. St. Thomas More School will use the proceeds to establish a fund for current STM students. Another fund will be used by Shrewsbury High School, Shrewsbury, MA, for scholarship aid to graduating seniors (Brian was the Alpine Ski Team coach at SHS).
St. Thomas More School’s Headmaster, Jamie Hanrahan ’72, and Dean of Students, Tim Viands, walked away as Champions of this tournament with a score 15 under par.
