Over 110 Guests at 8th Annual Founder's Dinner
11/10/2008
After a cocktail hour and dinner at Foxwoods Resort Casino, History Department Chairman, Daniel Johnson, introduced George. He noted that George has been teaching for 48 years. That is quite an achievement; and in his spare time, George goes from school to school doing science experiments in a program known as "Demonstrations Are Us." His scientific friends that help him use liquid nitrogen to blow things up, Dr. Dave Perry and Bob Erickson were in attendance. He was also joined by his wife Barbara, a successful artist in her own right, as well as many other family members.
Jere Quinn presented Loretta Bleau. He described her as being a survivor -- the only living child of eleven siblings and outlasting three husbands. Jere also teased her about the New York Yankee's dismal season because she laughed at the STM Red Sox fans for so many years. She was joined by sons, daughters and grandchildren.
Both George and Loretta received Certificates from the State Representatives in their home towns and a chair from St. Thomas More School.
Guests represented all members of the STM family including board members, faculty and staff, students, friends, vendors, alumni and past faculty. A special guest was Lois DeRico, widow of Ray DeRico.
